Police recovered the bodies of both

Jamshedpur. Two junior doctors drowned while trying to retrieve a mobile phone from a lake in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district in the early hours of Friday. The officers provided this information. He told that three junior doctors of the state government’s MGM Medical College and Hospital had gone to Dimna Lake in Jamshedpur for a walk at around 3 in the morning. Meanwhile, a doctor’s mobile phone accidentally fell into water.

Superintendent of MGM Hospital, Dr. Balram Jha said that a doctor entered the reservoir to take out the mobile, but due to going into deep water, he started drowning. The other two doctors also jumped into the water to save him, he said. Only one of them could swim out safely and the other two drowned. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayanand Kumar said that as soon as information about the incident was received, police along with civil defense personnel and divers reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

After an operation that lasted more than four hours, both the bodies were recovered and have been sent for post-mortem, he said. Police said that the identities of the deceased have not been made public as the relatives of the deceased have not yet arrived and the necessary formalities have not been completed.
