In a recent report, Sky Sports said that Manchester United are monitoring AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone. It has been reported that the Red Devils have marked the French talent as a target for this summer transfer window.

Kone enjoyed a solid spell of form at the Italian club after he produced a string of eye-catching performances in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old scored two goals and provided three assists in 37 appearances for AS Roma last season across multiple competitions.

The French talent is currently among the best central midfielders in Serie A. As a result, the Red Devils would be wise to try and bring him to Old Trafford in this transfer window.

His present contract with the Italian club runs until the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Man United to sign him for a bargain fee this off-season.

Kone enjoys making tackles and reads danger well to win back possession for his team in their own half. He does not shy away from driving the ball clear when the opposition are attacking, and he is also a neat passer.

The French sensation is full of energy and movement in the centre of the park. Kone can also contribute by scoring and setting up the occasional goal from midfield. However, there are some doubts about whether he can adapt to the physical demands and high tempo of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to sign him later this year.

We can expect Kone to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting place at Old Trafford next season.

At 25, Kone still has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a sensible option for the Red Devils to chase this summer. However, Carrick would need to allow him time to settle into life at the Theatre of Dreams. Even so, Man United should look to move for Kone before this transfer window closes.
