CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka took a jibe at the media and said that by the time their work is completed, the media will become irrelevant. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned after 37 days of agitation in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.

New Delhi [भारत]July 26 (ANI): Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Sunday took a jibe at the mainstream media. He recalled his reaction to a media question, saying that when asked why the media was not covering the party's movement, he had remarked that "by the time we finish our work, the mainstream media will have become irrelevant."

In a post on Ranka said, "And I replied: 'By the time we finish our work, the mainstream media will be irrelevant.'" Movement back, CJP founder thanks supporters

Earlier in the day, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke thanked supporters across the country for supporting the party's 37-day-long agitation, which was called off after the government gave assurance on the demands.

In a video shared on X, Dipke thanked supporters for standing with the movement and said the party still had a "long way to go". “This is just a beginning,” Dipke said, and stressed that the CJP will continue its journey.

Education Minister's resignation and government's assurance

The agitation ended with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday amid nationwide protests over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. After the resignation, CJP ended its protest at Jantar Mantar after receiving assurance from the government.

Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh held talks with the CJP and accepted their demand for appropriate compensation to the families of NEET aspirants who committed suicide. He also assured to withdraw the FIRs registered against the protesters across the country.

The government also agreed to examine the organisation's five-point charter on exam reforms, and the next round of talks is scheduled after four weeks.

The movement gained momentum after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protests and went on a 26-day hunger strike. Following assurances from the government, Wangchuk congratulated the youth and described the development as a victory for democracy.

Meanwhile, after Pradhan stepped down from the post, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was given the charge of the Education Ministry. (ANI)
