Kajal Aggarwal has been one of South India’s most popular actresses for nearly two decades, earning a huge fan following across languages. However, the actress recently revealed that one fan encounter on a film set left her frightened rather than impressed. In an interview with ABP News, Kajal recalled how an assistant director entered her caravan without permission while she was alone and showed her a tattoo of her name on his chest. Kajal said the incident took place after she had completed shooting for the day and was resting inside her caravan. According to her, the assistant director suddenly entered without seeking permission, removed his shirt and displayed the tattoo. Kajal said she was so shocked that her hands and legs began trembling. While she appreciated his admiration, she felt that entering her private space without permission had crossed a serious boundary. The actress also explained why she focused more on South Indian cinema than Bollywood. She said the South offered her better roles and stronger opportunities, while she did not want to accept average parts in Hindi films merely for visibility. Kajal added that quality had always been more important to her than quantity and that language was never a barrier. She admitted that it took her several films to truly fall in love with acting, but once she did, she became deeply committed to the craft. Speaking about the work culture in different film industries, Kajal said Bollywood could learn punctuality from the South. She observed that South Indian film sets generally function according to strict schedules, while timings in Hindi cinema are often unpredictable. When asked which actor had made her wait the longest on a film set, Kajal named Salman Khan. She said she was not used to such delays and would spend the waiting time exercising at the gym available on the set. Kajal also spoke about the changing portrayal of women in South Indian films. She said filmmakers were now writing more progressive and coming-of-age roles for female characters. She added that she had always maintained clear boundaries regarding glamour and had refused scenes that objectified women.
