Shabana Azmi after doing films with Dharmendra and Sunny Deol: 'Bobby ko bhi bolo ab taiyaar ho jaaye'

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi , who plays a key role in Sunny Deol 's upcoming film ' Batwara 1947 ', revealed at the trailer launch that she now wants to work with Bobby Deol , having already worked with his late father Dharmendra and elder brother Sunny.
Shabana Azmi's message for Bobby DeolAccording to the NDTV report, speaking at the trailer launch event of 'Batwara 1947', Shabana Azmi said, "Meri jo last theatrical release hai, woh Dharamji (late actor Dharmendra) ke saath thi — 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. Aur agla jo aane wala hai, woh Sunny (Deol) ke saath hai. Abhay (Deol) ke saath toh main kaam kar sakti hoon. Bobby (Deol) ko bhi bolo ab taiyaar ho jaaye mere saath kaam karne ke liye." (My last theatrical release was with Dharamji — 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. My next release is with Sunny. I can work with Abhay. Tell Bobby to get ready to work with me)."
Shabana Azmi was accompanied at the event by her husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar , who has written the film's songs. In 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', Azmi and Dharmendra played estranged lovers, and their on-screen kiss had made headlines.
Sunny Deol's post dedicating film to his motherAhead of the trailer launch, Sunny Deol shared a picture with his mother, Prakash Kaur, dedicating the film to her. He wrote, "Meri Maa hi mera Rab hain, mera pyaar, mera hausla, meri taaqat," followed by, "Batwara 1947 main apni Maa aur duniya ki har Maa ko samarpit karta hoon." He added that the trailer would be out the next day, and it went on to receive a huge response online.
The film also brings back the pairing of Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta , who last shared screen space in 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' and more recently in 'Bhaiaji Superhit'. 'Batwara 1947' is slated to release on 14 August 2026.
