Lok Sabha passes anti-paper leak bill, Jitendra Singh counters Rahul Gandhi’s allegations

During the discussion, Union Minister Jitendra Singh responded to the allegation of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in which he had raised the question of using pellet guns during the student protest. Jitendra Singh said that pellet guns were not used during the demonstration and no bullets were fired at the students. He said that in such cases, orders for action are not given by the government, but by the concerned administrative officers and magistrates.

The Union Minister said that only tear gas was used to control the protesters. He accused Rahul Gandhi of making serious allegations without facts and said that statements should be made in the House only on the basis of factual information.

While making a political attack on Rahul Gandhi, Jitendra Singh said that initially he distanced himself from the student movement, but when the movement gained momentum, he joined it. He also said that Rahul Gandhi was sitting on a dharna near the Prime Minister’s residence and took a dig at this too. There was a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition on this issue in the Lok Sabha.
