The ' Ramayana ' trailer fans had been waiting all year to watch, finally dropped online at 4.15 am, on July 30, and, despite the multiple leaks, and delays, it has hit all the checkboxes.
Following the release, fans in India, who woke up early to watch the trailer, took to social media to share their praise for leading actor Ranbir Kapoor 's portrayal of Lord Rama and Yash 's transformation into the villain, Ravana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first trailer of the two-part epic, offers the first extended glimpse into the timeless battle between good and evil. Showcasing breathtaking visuals, emotionally charged moments and larger-than-life action sequences, the four-minute and nine-second clip, struck all the right chords with the audience.
Beyond the film's scale, it was the performances of its two leading stars that have become the biggest talking point online.
Fans hail Ranbir Kapoor as 'RAMbir'Ranbir Kapoor, who appears in a double role as Lord Rama and Parshu Ram, has won over fans with his calm screen presence, expressive eyes and dignified portrayal of the revered deity. Within minutes of the trailer's release, social media platforms were flooded with posts affectionately referring to the actor as "RAMbir," with several users praising how naturally he embodies the role.
One fan wrote, "Now I understand why they cast Ranbir Kapoor. There's a calmness in his performance that feels effortless."

Lord Rama dialogue wins hearts
"MAI APNI SITA KO VAPAS LAAUNGA," fans said as they posted clips of the trailer ending that saw Ravana looking over his shoulder at Sita in his Pushpaka Vimana while Rama picks up his bow and arrow and vows to get Sita back.
One social media user wrote, "Ramayana’s trailer is out, and Ranbir Kapoor is looking great. But it seems like Ravan’s character has been given more highlighted in the trailer."

Fans blown away by VFX Beyond the lead performances, audiences lauded the film's visual effects and production design from producer Namit Malhotra 's team. Fans wrote, "Namit Malhotra, we owe you an apology. We weren’t familiar with your game!"
The sweeping landscapes, elaborate recreation of Lanka and spectacular battle sequences drew comparisons to international fantasy epics, with many calling Ramayana one of the most visually ambitious Indian films ever made.
