Puneri Strikers team batted first
Pune: In the 'DSP Karandak Monsoon League' mixed corporate cricket tournament organized by DSP Sports and Events, teams Puneri Strikers Club and Corporate Crushers defeated their respective teams (Cricket) has made a winning start in the competition.
Puneri Strikers Club defeated Platinum Cricket Club by 46 runs in the first match of the league at the Pune Cricket Club ground in Wagholi.
After winning the toss and batting first, the Puneri Strikers team posted a strong score of 174 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In this, Rituraj Tavere scored an excellent half-century of 78 not out with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes in 54 balls. He was well supported by Shubham Hulge (32 runs) and Nikhil Ji (20 runs). Vikas Nehe took 3 wickets for 26 runs for Platinum Club.

'Samanavier' Award to Rituraj Tavare
Chasing the challenge of 175 runs for victory, Platinum Cricket Club's innings ended at 128 all out in 16.2 overs. Abhijeet Kale (42 runs) and Prajwal Salunkhe (23 runs) tried to fight back from the Platinum team. However, they did not perform well in front of the bowlers of Puneri Strikers. Adesh Upadhyay took 3 wickets for 13 runs, while Mahesh Chavan and Nikhil Ji took 2 wickets each to seal the win for the team. Rituraj Tavare, who played an unbeaten knock of 78 runs, was declared 'Man of the Match'.
Beat Corporate Crushers by 15 runs
In the second match of the day, Corporate Crushers secured a hard-fought victory over Elite 11 by 15 runs. Batting first, Corporate Crushers scored 168 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs. Adarsh Chadha played a restrained and aggressive knock of 65 not out with 9 fours off 51 balls. Vaibhav Saxena contributed 32 and Nishit Kumar 21 runs not out. Hemant Chaudhary scored 41 runs off 26 balls and Manish Ahlawat scored 20 runs. The Corporate Crushers bowlers played well to keep Elite 11 at bay. Dyanesh Kunde, Navneet Mehta, Adarsh Chadha and Prajesh took 2 wickets each. Adarsh Chadha, who scored an unbeaten 65 runs in batting and took 2 wickets in bowling, was honored with the 'Man of the Match' award.

The cup will be played in 10 teams
Tournament Director Dinesh Patil informed that a total of 10 teams namely Sai Satyam Cricket Club, Corporate Crushers, Platinum Cricket Club, Mighty Stars, Puneri Strikers, Royal Revengers, Lethal XI, Elite 11, Fearless Fighters and BKC 11 will compete for the title. The winning and runner-up teams of the competition will be felicitated with attractive trophies and cash prizes.
