A comprehensive departmental and drone survey conducted by the railway administration has revealed a staggering decrease in stone-pelting incidents targeting trains. Comparing annual statistics, recorded cases plummeted from 32 incidents in 2025 down to a mere 3 in 2026, marking a monumental milestone for railway security and passenger protection.
Identifying Vulnerable Routes Through Advanced Drone Surveys
To ensure the foolproof safety of high-speed networks like the Vande Bharat Express, the railway administration deployed drone cameras for an intensive aerial survey. The operation successfully mapped vulnerable pockets, identifying the Bachhrawan-Rae Bareli and Rae Bareli-Unchahar railway sections as key sensitive zones prone to anti-social activities. The aerial mapping closely inspected villages running alongside the tracks, densely populated corridors, open roadways, and easy-access points, allowing authorities to precisely mark and monitor risk-prone areas.
Strict RPF Crackdown And Comparative Case Statistics
Data compiled by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) highlights a dramatic shift in law and order enforcement. In the Rae Bareli RPF post jurisdiction, 2025 saw 7 cases registered on the Vande Bharat Express alongside 10 cases on other trains, whereas 2026 figures dropped drastically to just 1 case on Vande Bharat and 1 on other trains. Similarly, the Unchahar RPF post area recorded 10 Vande Bharat cases and 5 general train cases in 2025, which reduced to just 1 case each in 2026. Joint patrolling by the RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) has intensified significantly to maintain this positive momentum.
