If there is a plan for a ‘destination wedding’, the tourism department will make arrangements by the sea, in the deep forest or on the slopes of the mountains. Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh said that infrastructure for ‘destination wedding’ will be developed even in tea gardens in North Bengal. He also said in his budget reply speech on Thursday that a five-point plan is being made to develop tourism. The Speaker expressed his anger over the presence of MLAs during the budget debate of this department. At that time, only 45 to 50 MLAs were present in the session hall.
During the Trinamool rule, a toilet was built in the house of revolutionary Rash Behari Bose. The MLA of Purbasthali North appealed to the minister of the department to look into the matter. As soon as the matter came to the minister’s attention, Minister Shankar Ghash summoned a report from the district administration. He said that if such an incident occurs, strict action will be taken immediately, he assured. Again, tourism is linked to the economy of tea gardens. Therefore, discussions are underway with the forest department to develop tourism in tea gardens. He also said that the officials of the two departments will discuss and emphasize tourism by protecting the environment. He said that along with the tea gardens in the north, emphasis should be placed on tourism in the Sundarbans.
The Tourism Minister said that plans are being made to save the Sundarbans forest area, along with planting mangrove saplings, after discussing with the concerned departments. Before that, however, Speaker Rathindra Basu expressed his anger over the presence of MLAs during the budget discussion. He said that the members leave as soon as their speech is over. They do not have the patience to listen to others. The one who speaks wants everyone to listen to his speech. But he is not the one who stays when someone else speaks. There are many members who can learn a lot from their speech. But they are not interested in learning. Are we really fulfilling our responsibilities? The Speaker raised a question. Even after giving a speech on the budget, the speakers are not coming to hear the minister’s reply. The Speaker advised to be more careful in this regard in the future.
