On August 2, in Srinagar, Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasized that India's greatest strength lies in its youthful population, with around 65% of citizens under the age of 35. He urged the youth to actively participate in nation-building efforts.

Sinha was addressing the launch of the 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India' campaign. He highlighted that approximately 370 million individuals aged between 15 and 29 are eager to contribute to the nation's development. This nationwide initiative was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to empower young people while tackling substance abuse issues to secure India's future.

He stated, “India's greatest strength is its youth, with nearly 65% of the population under 35 years old. About 370 million young people in the 15 to 29 age group are ready to contribute to nation-building.” Sinha noted that the goal of the 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India' campaign is to infuse new energy into this demographic, encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles and engage actively in developmental activities. He added that this initiative, launched by the Prime Minister in 2020, is not merely a government program but a social movement against drug abuse.
