Itanagar, August 2 - On Sunday, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, participated digitally from Tawang in the nationwide launch of the 'Nasha Mukta Yuva - Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his address, Khandu urged the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to become active ambassadors for this anti-drug campaign.

The initiative, which falls under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is a 100-week campaign that commenced with a collective pledge taken by over one crore youths at more than 10,000 locations across the country to stay away from drugs and dedicate themselves to nation-building.

While inaugurating the 'Nasha Mukta Yuva - Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan', Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of mental and physical health for the youth, urging them to avoid all forms of substance abuse. He highlighted that while drugs may provide a temporary illusion of happiness, they ultimately lead to the destruction of careers and personal lives. Khandu noted on social media that under Modi's visionary leadership, India has transformed the fight against substance abuse into a true 'people's participation' movement.

Khandu stated, 'I urge every youth in Arunachal Pradesh to become an ambassador for this campaign and inspire their families, friends, and community members to adopt a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free lifestyle.' Over the next 100 weeks, various activities such as sports competitions, walkathons, cultural events, and community engagement initiatives will be organized every Sunday across all states and union territories to maintain the momentum of the anti-drug campaign.
