Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, has raised concerns regarding Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi and R. Madhavan. He questioned their decision to reside in Dubai if they believe that everything is thriving under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration.
Attack During Mumbai Event
During an event held by the MNS student wing, 'Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena', in Mumbai on Saturday, Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the central government. He asserted that numerous business owners have packed their belongings and left India.
Biopic Creators Living Abroad
Referring to the biopic on PM Modi released in 2019, Thackeray pointed out, "Vivek Oberoi, who portrayed Modi in the film, has also moved to Dubai." He further mentioned R. Madhavan, stating, "R. Madhavan, who praised PM Modi, also resides in Dubai. If you love India so much and believe that PM Modi is fostering development, why are you living abroad?" He accused these actors of returning to India to work in government-supported films before heading back to Dubai.
Actors' Reasons for Moving to Dubai
It is noteworthy that R. Madhavan previously explained that he relocated to Dubai during the COVID-19 pandemic to support his son's swimming career. Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi has indicated that he moved there to start his own business.
