Asian Legends League: India-Pakistan grand match today, will we see a handshake?

A high-voltage match between India and Pakistan captures fans’ attention. With Team India on a brief break, fans are focused on this match, and with legends like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan part of the team, the excitement only increases. In just a few hours, the India Royals and Pakistan Panthers will face off in the Asian Legends League.

The question on everyone’s mind is whether legendary players like Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina will shake hands with Pakistani players in this match. Relations between the two countries have been strained since last year. Handshakes have been a no-no in any of the matches between India and Pakistan. While this issue has often escalated, things have now returned to normal.

Following the Pahalgam attack, Harbhajan Singh and Shikhar Dhawan protested the World Champions League match against Pakistan, leading to the cancellation of the match. It remains to be seen whether these players will shake hands with the Pakistani players.

The match will begin at 4 p.m. Indian time in Zambia. Shikhar Dhawan is the captain of the Indian team, but he did not play in the previous match. Naman Ojha captained the team against the Bangladesh Tigers. Veterans like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, and Stuart Binny are part of India’s squad for the league. None of these players played against the Bangladesh Tigers. However, it remains to be seen whether these players will play against the Pakistan Panthers. The possibility of a handshake also seems unlikely, as handshakes have not been allowed until the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

India Starts With a Win
India started the league with a win. India won by 19 runs against the Bangladesh Tigers. The Indian Royals are currently in third place in the points table. Meanwhile, Pakistan lost their opening match to the Asian Stars and are now at the bottom of the table. It remains to be seen whether India can manage to win against the Royals.
