The first Sawan Monday after marriage is considered especially auspicious in many families. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with devotion on this day brings happiness, love, and prosperity to married life. Worship Method for the First Sawan Monday

Wake up early in the morning, bathe, and wear clean or new clothes. Perform bridal makeup. Clean the place of worship and meditate on Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Abhisheka the Shivalinga with water and Ganga water. Afterward, bathe it again with milk (if desired), then water. Offer Belpatra (a three-leafed tree), Datura (a sacred thread), cannabis, white flowers, unbroken rice grains, sandalwood, and fruits.

Light a lamp and incense and perform the puja. Chant the mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” at least 108 times. Recite the Shiva Chalisa, Shiva Panchakshara Stotra, or the Sawan Somvar Vrat Katha. Pray to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for a happy married life, family well-being, and good health. Perform aarti at the end of the puja and distribute prasad.

If you are fasting, keep these things in mind:

If you are fasting for the entire day, eat satvik food or fruits throughout the day (according to your tradition and health). In the evening, perform another aarti of Lord Shiva and break the fast, if this is your tradition. If possible, husband and wife should worship together. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are considered the epitome of an ideal marriage, so worshipping together is considered auspicious.
