Bajaj Pulsar Series: Pulsar is a high-capacity sports car. Due to features like more power, disc brakes and ABS, the cost of servicing, brake pads and spark plugs in 5 years can go up to ₹20,000 to ₹28,000.

In terms of daily use, the maintenance cost of Splendor is almost half that of Pulsar.

2. Availability of spare parts

Hero Splendor Series: Since Splendor is the best-selling car in India, its spare parts are easily available at any local garage in the village and at very reasonable prices.

Bajaj Pulsar Series: Bajaj parts are also available everywhere in the cities. However, due to the sporty design and fiber body parts, Pulsar parts are a little expensive compared to Splendor and sometimes you have to depend on authorized service centers.

3. Resale value

Hero Splendor Series: Even after 5 years of use, Splendor fetches a good price of 50% to 60% of the original price in the second-hand market. This car gets immediate buyers due to its excellent mileage (60-70 km/l).
Bajaj Pulsar Series: The resale value of Pulsar drops to 35% to 45% of the original price after 5 years. Due to the engine usage, condition of the car and moderate mileage (35-45 km/l), only young buyers are interested in second hand Pulsar.

Final verdict after 5 years of use

If your priority is budget, high mileage, low maintenance cost and good resale value, then Splendor is the most profitable after 5 years of use.

On the other hand, if you want a good pickup, attractive design, highway riding and power, then Pulsar is the best option; but for that you have to be prepared to spend more on maintenance in 5 years.
