Ferran Torres’s future at FC Barcelona has once again come under focus. The Blaugrana attacker spoke to CNN on Monday night and raised fresh uncertainty over whether he will stay in the Catalan capital next season.

Even though his contract runs until 2027, the Valencia-born forward avoided making any firm commitment about what may happen in the coming weeks. He confirmed that he is expected to return to training on August 12, but also issued a clear message: “Right now, the only thing I know is that on August 12 I have to be there and train with them. So we’ll see what happens.”

Amid speculation linking him with clubs such as PSG, Ferran did not rule anything out and admitted he wants to be prepared for every possible outcome: “You never know, because in football everything can change in a minute. I have to be prepared for everything.”

As for taking such an important call in his career, the striker said he knows exactly what matters most. He explained that his decision will mainly depend on his own happiness and the well-being of those closest to him: “I try to think about what will make me happiest. That’s all. And for my family.”

Finally, he played down the debate around the photograph of him wearing a cap carrying the slogan Make Spain Great Again after the World Cup. Speaking with a laugh, he clarified that “it was a funny moment because it wasn’t about politics; honestly, I don’t know about politics,” while stressing that it was simply a reference to wanting to see the national team at the summit of world football.
