The weather across Delhi and the entire NCR, including Noida, has suddenly changed completely, and the cool air has brought significant relief to residents. The rain that began last night continued into Tuesday morning. Light rain is falling in many areas of the NCR, including Noida, and the sky is overcast.

Heavy rain expected in Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, today. A strict alert for heavy rain has also been issued for Punjab and Chandigarh.

During this time, the weather is expected to be quite rough, with strong winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. In some areas, winds may even reach 50 kilometers per hour, so people are advised to exercise special caution.

Orange alert for heavy rain in these states of the country

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall for Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim today. Heavy rain is also expected in Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Similar harsh weather conditions are expected to prevail over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra for the next two days.

Thunderstorm and lightning warning

According to the weather department’s warning, there is a strong possibility of thunderstorms, severe lightning and strong winds in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain is also expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from August 4th to 7th. During this period, winds with lightning strikes and gusts of 30 to 40 kmph are expected. Heavy rains are expected in some areas of Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, Marathwada, Saurashtra, and Kutch between August 4th and 9th. For your information, several states, including Gujarat and Assam, are already facing flood-like conditions due to heavy rains, with water entering many homes.

People of Uttar Pradesh will get relief from scorching heat and humidity.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a strong possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh on August 4 and 5, while heavy rain may continue at some places on August 6 also.

The department says heavy rain will continue in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 7, although no heavy rain warning has been issued for western Uttar Pradesh. Maximum temperatures are expected to drop significantly by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius over the next four days, bringing significant relief from the hot and humid weather that has plagued residents for the past several days.

Flood threat in Odisha, 10 districts on high alert

Meanwhile, the weather is also worsening the situation in Odisha. There is a significant threat of flooding, leading to the release of water from the famous Hirakud Dam, which has now reached Cuttack. In view of the potential danger, 10 districts in the state have been placed on full high alert to respond promptly to any emergency.
