Weather Forecast – Clouds have settled over Delhi-NCR. The sky has remained overcast since the morning of July 4. While humid heat continues to trouble residents, a light breeze has brought some relief. According to the IMD, the weather is set to change soon, bringing heavy rainfall to the NCR. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Delhi-NCR over the next three days, with a specific alert for intense rainfall in Delhi. Light to moderate rain is forecast, along with generally cloudy skies throughout the day. The department predicts intermittent light rain will continue until August 10.

Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain

Delhi-NCR witnessed light rain on Tuesday, making the weather somewhat pleasant. An alert has been issued for cloudy skies and light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, in several areas from the afternoon into the evening over the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas, and another spell of light to moderate rain is likely at night.

Latest Meteorological Department Forecast

The department forecasts heavy rain in isolated areas of Northeast India and adjacent parts of East India over the next two days, with heavy rainfall likely in some locations over the next five days. Heavy rain is expected in parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on August 4, and in Assam and Meghalaya on August 4 and 5. Heavy rain is also predicted for isolated areas in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and south interior Karnataka today, with the possibility of heavy rainfall continuing in some areas for the subsequent three days.

Yellow Alert for August 5

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for cloudy skies in Delhi-NCR on August 5. Additionally, alerts for light-to-moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms have been issued for most areas. The Meteorological Department forecasts a chance of light rain in several places overnight. The possibility of light to moderate rain in Delhi-NCR has also been predicted for August 6, with light rain likely during the night.

What will the temperature be in Delhi?

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi-NCR will experience heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. A ‘Yellow Alert’ for rain has been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday. Intermittent light rain may continue until August 10. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius on August 5, 7, and 10, while it is likely to hover between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius on August 8 and 9.

Rain warnings for these states

According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for heavy rainfall at isolated places have been issued for Eastern and Western Madhya Pradesh (August 6–8) and Chhattisgarh (August 4–9). Alerts regarding rainfall have also been issued for Eastern India—specifically the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim—from August 4 to 9. Furthermore, alerts for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds have been issued for Bihar (August 4–5) and Odisha (August 5–9).

The IMD has issued alerts for rainfall at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (August 4–7), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim (August 4 and 6), Jharkhand (August 4–7), Bihar (August 5–6), and Odisha (August 4–9).
