Mumbai: Actor Emraan Hashmi has responded to criticism surrounding the song Yeh Awarapan from his upcoming film Awarapan 2, saying that audiences should give it time before passing judgment. Drawing parallels with the original film’s iconic soundtrack, Hashmi pointed out that classics such as Toh Phir Aao were not instant hits and only became hugely popular over time.

The actor’s remarks come after some fans compared the newly released track with the memorable songs from the 2007 cult classic Awarapan, expressing disappointment that the latest composition did not immediately evoke the same emotional impact.

Emraan asks fans to be patient

Speaking about the mixed response to Yeh Awarapan, Emraan Hashmi said people often expect every sequel song to recreate the magic of the original overnight.
