The Golden State Warriors might be one of the biggest losers of the NBA offseason.

Not only did they fail to land LeBron James, but they haven’t signed any outside free agents so far.

That prompted speculation about Stephen Curry’s future with the organization, as he’s nearing the end of his prime and is eligible to sign a two-year contract extension.

Most superstars would probably pressure the team to make moves or trade him. Once again, Curry is proving he’s not like most superstars, and his latest comments about the team suggest he’s not going anywhere.

Curry isn’t naive. He knows the team might not be good enough to compete for an NBA championship right now, especially with the injuries.

That said, he’s pretty much stating that the only way around is through, and while he wants the team to figure things out, he thinks they must do it together.

Loyalty is scarce in professional sports nowadays, but Curry values his Bay Area legacy as much as he values his own individual glory.

The front office is failing him in the final stretch of his career, and he probably could win one or more championships elsewhere.

That said, with a two-year, $136.7 million maximum contract extension in the horizon, he’s more likely to finish his career with the Warriors than to ever consider leaving town.
