Khushali Kumar, daughter of the late Gulshan Kumar, a prominent figure in the Indian music industry, and actress, is currently in the news for her upcoming film, “Dulhaniya Le Aayegi.” However, beyond films, her personal and professional journey has been equally inspiring.
Entertainment News: “I am extremely proud to be the daughter of my father, Gulshan Kumar. It feels great when people call me Gulshan ji’s daughter. All three of us siblings always wanted to be known by our father’s name,” says Khushali Kumar, daughter of the late music producer and T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar, who revolutionized the Indian music industry. Expressing pride in her father’s legacy, Khushali said that there could be nothing greater for her family than the fact that people still recognize her by the name Gulshan Kumar.
Proud of her father’s identity
Khushali Kumar says she is always proud to be called her father’s daughter. According to her, Gulshan Kumar reshaped the Indian music industry and played a crucial role in bringing music to the masses. That’s why she wants future generations to remember her father’s contributions.
She said that while all her family members—Bhushan Kumar, Tulsi Kumar, and herself—are working in their respective fields, their greatest identity is tied to their father’s legacy. Khushali believes it’s an honor that people still associate her with Gulshan Kumar.
Acting was a Childhood Dream
Although Khushali is currently gaining recognition as an actress, she had a childhood dream of acting. She explained that she had a desire to work in front of the camera from a young age, but family circumstances and her parents’ concerns prevented her from immediately fulfilling this dream. According to Khushali, her father was very supportive of her dreams, but her mother was more cautious. After her father’s passing, family priorities shifted, and all the children focused on managing the family and the business.
Created a Distinctive Identity in Fashion Design
Before entering acting, Khushali achieved significant success in the field of fashion designing. She explained that she had an interest in clothing and designing since childhood. She would try to create new designs from her mother’s sarees, which led her family to believe that the fashion industry might be a better option for her.
She pursued a career in fashion designing and established her brand internationally. Her designs were available in many stores abroad, and her business continued to grow. According to Khushali, her designs were sold in 30 to 40 stores across the world. Despite this, she always felt that her true happiness lay in acting. She admitted that despite commercial success, her desire to work in front of the camera never diminished.
Family Responsibilities Became a Priority
Khushali also recalled the difficult period in her life when her father passed away. She explained that her brother Bhushan Kumar was very young at that time, and she had to take on the responsibility of a large business. All family members supported each other and tried not to put any extra pressure on her mother. According to Khushali, this is why she put her acting dreams on hold for a while and prioritized her family.
Over time, circumstances changed, and her mother also began supporting her acting career. Today, her family is proud of her professional journey.
A New Chapter in the Acting World
Khushali entered films relatively late, but she considers it one of the most satisfying achievements of her life. She says that people tend to judge her journey from her first film, while she sees it as a return to the dream of a little girl who always wanted to be an actress. She believes that acting is not just a profession, but a passion of her life, and that is why she is satisfied and happy with her career today.
What is Khushali’s opinion on relationships and marriage?
When asked about marriage and a life partner in the context of her film “Dulhaniya Le Aayegi,” she said that choosing the right partner is not easy in today’s times. She believes that the most important foundation of any relationship is emotional connection and mutual understanding. According to Khushali, when one feels a deep connection with someone, even their shortcomings don’t seem as significant.
She said that a strong relationship is one in which one feels the trust and comfort of family. In her opinion, this is the foundation on which a successful and long-lasting relationship is built.
