\New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted sharply to the central government’s decision to reduce the time limit for social media and digital platforms to remove illegal, synthetic, and AI-generated content from 36 hours to three hours. He alleged that the government was trying to suppress the voice of the people and was afraid of the “Gen-G” movement.
Kejriwal said in a video shared on social media platform X on Friday that a new law of the central government has been implemented, under which if the government gives a valid notice to any social media platform to remove a post, the platform will have to remove that content within three hours.
Kejriwal said that there is an atmosphere of fear within the central government following the Gen-G protests. He alleged that the more the government tries to suppress people’s voices, the more public anger will grow.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has amended the IT rules and reduced the time limit for social media and digital platforms to remove illegal information, synthetic and AI-generated content from 36 hours to 3 hours after receiving a valid notice from the government or the court.
