The Chengalpattu Family Court has disposed of the divorce case involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay after his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, withdrew her petition. Reports said her filing had allegedly accused Vijay of infidelity, emotional withdrawal, and causing distress through reported appearances with an unnamed actress abroad.
In February this year, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed a divorce petition at the Chengalpattu Family Court. Now, she has withdrawn her petition, and the court has disposed of the case. The star wife appeared before the court through video conference and informed Judge Sujatha that she was withdrawing the petition.
According to ANI, the judge questioned Sangeetha for around 15 minutes, and later accepted the withdrawal and closed the divorce proceedings. The legal proceedings started in February 2026, while the matter was subsequently deferred to April 20, three days before the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
In her petition, she allegedly mentioned "infidelity" as one of the reasons for the divorce and reportedly also stated that the actor "gradually withdrew emotionally" and distanced himself from their domestic life. It reportedly also mentioned that Vijay used to travel abroad and attend public events with an unnamed actress, because of which she and her two children were distressed.
