MG Electric Car In India: The demand for large family cars, i.e., 7-seater SUVs, is rapidly increasing in the Indian automobile market. Currently, the Toyota Innova and Kia Carens dominate this segment, but that equation is about to change. Leading automakers Mahindra and MG Motor India are preparing to introduce their new 7-seater vehicles in August 2026.

These two SUVs will not only be modern in design, but will also feature advanced technology and safety features. Let’s explore the features and specifications of these two upcoming vehicles in detail.

What will be special about MG’s new 7-seater?

MG Motor India is launching a new premium three-row electric SUV to strengthen its foothold in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. According to reports, this model will be based on the company’s exclusive “ADAPT” platform and will be based on the “Wuling Eksion” sold internationally. It is believed to be inspired by the Scorpio N.

The biggest highlight of this electric SUV will be its range. It is expected to feature a large 69 kWh battery pack, capable of covering a distance of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. It is expected to be powered by a 210 bhp electric motor, making it convenient for long-distance travel. The cabin will feature a 2+3+2 seating layout, comfortably seating seven people.

When is the Mahindra Scorpio N launching?

Mahindra is going to introduce a new avatar, the “Scorpio N,” one of its most popular SUVs. It is expected that the company will unveil the facelifted model on August 15, 2026.

The new Scorpio N will feature some significant design changes, such as an updated front grille, redesigned bumpers, sleeker headlamps, and new alloy wheels.

Regarding the interior, the facelifted model is expected to feature a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and new seat covers, giving the cabin a more premium look. However, no major changes are expected on the engine front. The existing 2.0-liter turbo petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engine options are likely to remain.

What will be their features?

Both companies will equip their new SUVs with high-tech features. MG’s electric car could feature features like Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, and wireless charging. Mahindra will also focus on modern connectivity features along with its off-road capability and powerful performance.

Coming in August, these two SUVs will cater to different customer needs. While MG will appeal to those who prefer new technology and environmentally friendly driving (electric), the Mahindra Scorpio N will remain the preferred choice for those who enjoy ruggedness and off-roading.
