Jugaad Dhami, a 19-year-old Indo-Canadian man, has been accused of harassing a woman at an amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario. Police are appealing for other victims to come forward. The alleged harassment occurred at an amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario. York Regional Police (YRP) said on Friday that 19-year-old Jugaad Dhami, a resident of Brampton in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), was charged on Wednesday with one count each of harassment and interference.
YRP reported that on May 25, a young woman was at an amusement park in Vaughan with her friends and was harassed by a ride operator during a security check while boarding a ride. Investigators from YRP’s Special Victims Unit investigated the matter, and a photo of the suspect was released, “as they believe there may be additional victims.”
YRP stated that harassment includes any contact of a sexual nature that is not consented to. Police appealed to potential victims who believe they may have been sexually harassed to come forward and report the incident. The statement noted that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offenses, and offenders can be prosecuted long after the crime occurred.
