Nahuel Molina is expected to arrive in Italy on Monday for his medical examinations as he prepares to complete his move from Atletico Madrid to Roma in a deal worth around €13m plus a further €4m in add-ons.

An agreement between the two clubs was reached earlier this week and, although reports differ slightly on the exact figures, the overall package is valued at €17-18m.

Molina was part of the Argentina squad that lost the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, so a decision was taken not to cut short his delayed holiday.

He has been in Ibiza and is spending the final hours of his break before starting his new chapter in the Eternal City.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Molina will be in Italy on Monday, when he is due to undergo his medical tests and sign his contract.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini effectively confirmed the timeline after the 3-0 friendly defeat to Brighton, telling reporters that they would “see Molina from Tuesday,” which is when he is expected to be ready to start training with his new teammates.

For the full-back, it marks a return to Serie A, having previously played for Udinese before making the switch to Atletico Madrid.

He will also not occupy a non-EU place in the squad, as he is in the process of obtaining a Spanish passport.
