RG Kar Case CBI Investigation: The fight for justice in Kolkata’s infamous RG Kar case has once again intensified. Shekhar Debnath, the victim’s father, claims that he is now receiving government support in his fight for justice, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formed a new team to investigate the case. The family says that previously they had to pursue justice alone, but now circumstances seem to be changing. According to Shekhar Debnath, the old CBI investigation team has been reshuffled, and the new team is working to gather information to the case. The family hopes that the new facts emerging from the investigation will help move the case forward. While he did not give a specific deadline for justice, he says the pressure for justice will continue. The victim’s family has demanded a fair investigation and strict action against the culprits since the beginning of the RG Kar case. The family alleges that the way the case was handled in the initial stages raised many questions. Now, with the formation of a new investigation team, the family hopes that aspects of the investigation that have previously raised questions will be revisited.
Shekhar Debnath has also made serious allegations against the former Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal. He claims that the then government tried to suppress the case. However, these are allegations made by the family, and independent evidence to confirm these allegations is not available in this report. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has described these allegations as an attempt to politicize them. Meanwhile, the ‘Abhaya Memorial Trust’ has emerged as an important part of the family’s fight for justice. The victim’s father stated that the trust will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. According to him, during the inauguration, information will be shared about the trust’s future activities and the steps to be taken in the fight for justice. For the family, this trust is not just an institution, but also a means to carry forward the memory and demand for justice for the daughter they lost. Shekhar Debnath says that his fight is not only for his family, but also for answers to the questions that have been raised since the case came to light.
The victim’s mother has also publicly expressed her feelings and allegations regarding the case. She stated that she has full hope for justice, but even if justice is achieved, her daughter may not return. She has also expressed her desire to seek the President’s permission to release her daughter’s identity and photograph. She says that her daughter was not at fault and the world should know her identity. The victim’s mother has also accused some individuals of destroying crucial evidence to the case. She also made serious allegations against the then Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. However, these allegations are made by the family and cannot be considered proven facts. Responses from the parties involved in such serious allegations and the official findings of the investigation will be crucial. Meanwhile, TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh presented the government’s position amid the family’s allegations. He stated that Abhaya’s death was extremely unfortunate and the party condemned the incident. He claimed that Mamata Banerjee’s police arrested the accused within 24 hours, and later, after the case went to court, the investigation was handed over to the CBI.
Kunal Ghosh also stated that the judicial process of the case was monitored at the trial court, High Court, and Supreme Court levels. He alleged that some individuals were using the case for political gain. He stated that other alleged rape and murder cases have occurred in the state, but such political activity has not been seen in those cases. Thus, the RG Kar case has once again become the focus of the debate on investigation, politics, and justice. The family is now looking forward to the investigation by the new CBI team and hopes that the newly gathered evidence will pave the way for justice. On the other hand, accusations and counter-accusations continue between political parties. The biggest question is: will any new facts emerge in the case after the formation of a new investigation team? Will the justice the family has long awaited come any closer? For now, these questions will only be answered through the investigation and further court proceedings. However, the victim’s family has made it clear that the fight for justice is far from over.
