Ladli Behna Yojana: Both state and central governments are implementing various schemes to improve the economic status of women. Numerous initiatives have been launched for farmers, women, and daughters. Schemes such as Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Namo Drone Didi, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana are currently being run by the central and state governments. The government is actively working towards making women self-reliant.
Ladli Behna Yojana
In this context, the Madhya Pradesh government launched the Ladli Behna Yojana. Under this scheme, women in the state receive ₹1,500 per month in financial assistance. A total of 38 installments have been released so far; women have received the ₹1,500 payment 38 times, and the 39th installment is now due for release. The Madhya Pradesh government transfers ₹1,500 per month to eligible ‘Ladli Behnas’ beneficiaries (beloved sisters). This financial aid is deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), without any intermediaries.
When will the 39th installment be released?
Installments under the scheme are typically released between the 1st and the 15th of the month. Based on previous disbursement patterns, it is estimated that the installment for August 2026 could be released around August 15th. The ₹1,500 amount is transferred to the accounts of eligible women. Several media reports claim that the state government might release the 39th installment before Raksha Bandhan. However, no official statement regarding the 39th installment has been issued yet.
Who benefits from the Ladli Behna Yojana?
To avail the benefits of this scheme, one must be a native resident of Madhya Pradesh.
Married, widowed, divorced, and abandoned women can also avail the benefits of this scheme.
Women who have completed 21 years of age are eligible to apply.
Women from any category or social group can benefit from this scheme. Women whose families own less than 5 acres of land are eligible to apply for this scheme.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, eligible women aged 21 to 59 years receive ₹1,250 per month.
