Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray on Friday morning took a dig at the meeting of MPs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thackeray said, “We are small people, we only meet the BMC Commissioner. We have no chance to reach Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Aaditya Thackeray also raised questions on the delimitation issue, asking, “What will be achieved by increasing the number of MPs? Will increasing the number of MPs reduce the problem of unemployment in the country?” he asked.
Aaditya Thackeray also targeted the BJP over the BMC’s proposal to buy tablets. He said, “When we were in power, tablets were bought for students and schools. But now the tax money of BMC and Mumbaikars is being used for their own benefit.”
Aaditya Thackeray said that first there was a proposal to buy a car, then money was spent on renovating the bungalow, and now there is a plan to buy tablets for prospective councilors and heads of various committees. He alleged that these tablets are not being bought for school children, but for personal use. Therefore, Shiv Sena UBT will oppose this.
Aaditya Thackeray also attacked the BJP’s tricolor rally and Vande Mataram. He said that it is a good thing that after independence, the BJP has at least remembered the tricolor. Thackeray said that BJP members are saying that if Vande Mataram is not sung in madrasas, then it should be stopped. However, when the bill on Vande Mataram was introduced in the House, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister were not present in the House.
