Automobile Desk – The Hyundai Creta, which has long dominated the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian automobile market, is now ready to debut in a completely new avatar. The company is rapidly working on its next-generation model. Recently released spy images and renders have given a clear glimpse of the upcoming model of this popular SUV, which clearly shows that the new Creta will be bolder, more modern and equipped with advanced features than ever before.
Futuristic exterior and powerful looks
The front profile of the new Hyundai Creta will see extensive changes. It is expected to feature a new black grille with a pixelated pattern and attractive ‘T’-shaped LED DRLs. The headlights have been reduced in size and are positioned more elegantly on the front bumper. The lower part of the bumper will also feature pixelated elements and a new air dam. Sharp and aggressive character lines on the bonnet give it a strong and powerful presence on the road.
Looking at the side profile, it will feature newly designed, large dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. Thick cladding on the wheel arches, large windows, and a roof spoiler further enhance its sporty character. The rear section features a black panel in the center of the tailgate, along with connected LED taillamps, which feature pixelated elements. The rear bumper has also been given a more rugged and muscular look.
Premium interiors and next-level technology in the cabin
The new Creta will see significant changes in terms of interior. The old dual-screen setup could be replaced by a larger, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, along with a slim digital driver display.
It is expected to feature Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect system. This advanced system will support over-the-air (OTA) updates, built-in apps, and the AI-powered Gleo voice assistant. Safety features like upgraded Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree view camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and multiple airbags will remain standard.
Engine options and hybrid technology
In terms of performance, the new Creta will retain the existing powertrain options:
1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol: This engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and iVT automatic transmission.
1.5-litre turbo-petrol: This engine produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque and will be paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
1.5-litre Diesel: This engine produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
Additionally, Hyundai is also working on a strong hybrid powertrain. Auto industry buzz suggests that this hybrid variant could gradually replace diesel models in the future, given stricter emission standards.
