Banarasi Tomato Chaat is famous throughout the world for its spicy taste. The seasoning of garlic and onion in this chaat further enhances its taste. Ingredients for Onion Garlic Chaat
- Tomato 500 grams, Potato 4, Coriander – 1/4 cup, Ghee 1 tablespoon, Ginger paste 4 inch piece, Green chilli 4, Coriander powder 1 teaspoon, Cumin powder 1 teaspoon, Cumin half teaspoon, Salt as per taste, Garam masala half teaspoon, Chaat masala half teaspoon, Black salt half teaspoon.
- Ingredients for cumin syrup: Jaggery half cup, water half cup, lemon juice 1 tablespoon, cumin powder 3/4 teaspoon, chaat masala half teaspoon, black salt half teaspoon, ghee for serving, bhujia for garnish.
How to make tomato chaat without onion and garlic?
- First step: To make Tomato Banarasi Chaat without onion and garlic, first of all, turn on the gas and place a pan on it, when it gets hot, add oil and ghee in it and temper it with grated ginger, cumin and finely chopped green chillies. When they become golden, add finely chopped tomatoes and turmeric. Cook the tomatoes on medium flame until they melt. While the tomatoes are cooking, put the potatoes in the cooker and boil them.
- Second step: When tomatoes melt, add green coriander, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt as per taste, garam masala, chaat masala, black salt and mix well. When all the spices are mixed in the tomatoes, add boiled potato pieces to it and mix well with the spices, then add water and cook the gravy until it thickens. Keep in mind that the potatoes should not melt.
- Third step: Now, make cumin water, add half cup jaggery and half cup water in a pan. When the jaggery melts well, add lemon juice, cumin powder, chaat masala and black salt and mix. When cumin water is ready, turn off the gas.
- Fourth step: Now take out chaat in a bowl and pour cumin water over it. This cumin water will increase the taste of tomato chaat manifold. Garnish with shaved salt and green coriander and serve.
