Tezzbuzz Desk- In view of Independence Day i.e. 15th August, the police has issued a high alert regarding security arrangements in Delhi. In view of the possible terrorist threat, special arrangements have been made to increase security in key areas of the capital as well as to keep an eye on suspicious activities.

As a precautionary measure, Delhi Police has put up posters of 19 most wanted terrorists in prominent places, public places and crowded markets of the capital. These posters put up by the police include photographs of suspects associated with different terrorist organizations and information to them. The aim of the police is to make the general public aware of the identity of suspected terrorists through these posters and to immediately convey information about any suspicious activity to the security agencies. Security agencies are taking extra vigilance in view of the large number of people moving in the capital during Independence Day.

Posters of suspects associated with several terrorist organizations

The posters put up by Delhi Police show photographs of suspects associated with various terrorist organizations including Indian Mujahideen and Al-Qaeda. These include the names of Riyaz Bhatkal and Shabandri Mohammad Iqbal alias Iqbal Bhatkal, associated with the Indian Mujahideen.

Apart from this, photographs and information of Mohammed Sharjeel Akhtar, Abu Sufiyan and Syed Mohammad Arshiyan associated with Al-Qaeda have also been given in the posters. The police have appealed to the people to be cautious about these suspects.

Increased surveillance in crowded areas

Ahead of Independence Day, Delhi Police has increased surveillance in markets, public places and other sensitive areas. Along with keeping an eye on suspicious activities, security checks are also being tightened. According to police officials, no carelessness can be taken regarding security during an important national event like Independence Day. For this reason, security agencies in the capital are constantly monitoring the situation.

The police have appealed to the people that if they get information about any suspicious person or activity, they should immediately inform the police. Security agencies believe that vigilance of common people can also play an important role in strengthening the security system of the capital.
