New Delhi. A very big thing has come to light in the investigation of Air India flight AI 2379 coming from Phuket to Delhi which got stuck in terrible turbulence on August 4. According to media reports, the second dope test of the plane pilot has also come positive. Earlier, the initial screening test report of the pilot-in-command of the aircraft had also come non-negative. After this, it has now become clear that the pilot was flying the plane under the influence of drugs. Due to turbulence, the flight suddenly descended by about 300 feet and due to strong shaking, 17 people including passengers and crew members were injured.
Among the people on board the plane, someone was injured in the shoulder and someone in the back, while someone's head was injured. There were 134 people on board the plane at the time of the incident. Both the pilots of the aircraft have been removed from the roster after this incident. Now that both the dope test reports of the Pilot in Command have come positive, strict action will be taken against him by DGCA. The pilot's license can be suspended for up to three years. However, at present no official statement has been issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or the Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding the dope test report.
At the same time, on being summoned by the Civil Aviation Ministry, Air India's outgoing CEO Campbell Wilson reached Delhi today to meet senior officials. During this time DGCA officials were also present there. While leaving from there, when the journalists asked him questions, he only told that I have updated the information about the status of investigation into the incident to MoCA and DGCA officials. It is up to the Civil Aviation Minister to provide further information.
