Charging stations for electric vehicles will soon be set up in the premises of regional transport offices i.e. RTOs in the state. All these charging stations will be developed on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis, and the proposal in this regard will be sent to the state government for approval, Transport Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar has informed.

of 2047 EV Strengthen the policy
According to the new electric vehicle policy of the state government, it is decided to electrify most of the vehicles in the state by 2047. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to create a strong network of charging infrastructure across the state. As a part of this initiative, it is planned to set up these charging stations in the open space of RTO.

Two wheelers are most preferred
As per last four years statistics, total 7 lakh 72 thousand 123 electric vehicles have been registered in Maharashtra. This includes 6 lakh 36 thousand two-wheelers, and the share of two-wheelers in the total registration is more than 80 percent. It is clear from this that the use of electric two-wheelers in the state is increasing rapidly.
