Rodri’s future could influence the Premier League midfield market this month, with possible ripple effects if Manchester City’s holding midfielder moves on.

According to the New York Times, City turned down Barcelona’s offer of around £38m plus add-ons for Rodri and are seeking close to €80m. The club admire Ayyoub Bouaddi and continue to hold interest in Enzo Fernandez, although Chelsea expect him to remain. City have also wrapped up contract discussions with Jeremy Doku.

Arsenal completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes for £75m after Vinicius Junior signed a new deal at Real Madrid. The club are also considering a move for a left winger, which could lead to Gabriel Martinelli being sold. Ezri Konsa is still among the players they are monitoring.
