After the divorce, Achala ji remained alone for a long time and focused her entire attention on her work in All India Radio and films. In the 1970s, Achala ji met Clifford Douglas Peters. Clifford was a British citizen and mechanical engineer by profession. Both were at that stage of their lives where they desperately needed each other's company and emotional support. Gradually friendship turned into love and both of them got married. Achala Sachdev left Mumbai and settled in Pune with Clifford. Where he built a beautiful bungalow named Rose Palace for her. Both of them spent many decades together in love and peace. Her husband Clifford Douglas Peters died in 2002. His relations with his son who had settled in America and his daughter were not very cordial or close. In such a situation, Achala ji was left completely alone in her bungalow in Pune. Only one caretaker lived with him to take care of him.
One incident and life changed
In September 2011, Achala ji was going towards the kitchen to get water in her house. Then her foot slipped and she fell. In this accident he suffered a serious fracture in his thigh bone. During his hospitalization, people associated with the film industry or his own relatives almost never came to meet him. She remained unconscious on the hospital bed for months. Even when the actress was suffering from paralysis in the hospital and battling between death and life, her son did not show any special interest in meeting her or taking care of her. His son did not even bear the responsibility of his hospital bills and care.
Donated all property to charity
