CPL 2026: Andre Russell hit 9 sixes, got out in the 10th attempt and the team lost

In this match, Barbados Tridents defeated Jamaica Kingsmen by just 5 runs.

Here Casey Carty and captain Rovman Powell (38) together made a partnership of 50 runs. But as soon as this partnership broke, the score became 5 wickets for 60 runs. Australian pacer Daniel Sams of Barbados took 3 wickets and Chris Green took 2 wickets. Here Carty (45) and Andre Russell together added 72 runs.

But then two consecutive wickets fell and Jamaica seemed to be on the verge of defeat. But Andre Russell hit sixes and the team came closer to victory. Russell had scored 68 runs in just 37 balls which included 9 sixes. Here 6 runs were needed in 3 balls and Russell tried to end the match by hitting the 10th six. But this time he did not get success and he got caught out. Then even 6 runs were not scored in the next 2 balls and the team lost by a close margin of just 5 runs.
