New Delhi: The conflict between the government and the opposition has increased in Parliament over the NEET paper leak and the alleged use of force during the students' protest. The opposition was continuously demanding answers from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on these issues. Now Amit Shah has given an open challenge to the opposition and said that the government is ready to discuss every question.
Amit Shah said – Government is not running away from discussion
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the government has nothing to hide and it is ready to answer on every issue in Parliament. He appealed to the opposition that instead of disrupting the proceedings of Parliament, discussions should be held under the rules.
Amit Shah said that the opposition should give the letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker for discussion by 2 pm. After this the government is ready for discussion from 3 pm to night. He also said that if necessary, discussion can be held the next day at 3 pm. Shah clarified that he himself will be present in the discussion and will answer the questions raised.
The Home Minister said that the matter cannot be ended by merely giving a statement on a serious issue in Parliament. For this, detailed discussion should be held as per the prescribed procedure. He also said that if necessary, postponing the Question Hour can also be considered, but for this the permission of the Speaker will be necessary.
Rahul Gandhi hit back
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi sharply retaliated on this statement of Amit Shah. Rahul Gandhi said that the youth do not want speeches or lectures, but want direct answers to their questions.
He demanded accountability from the government for the alleged use of force on students. Rahul Gandhi raised the question as to who had ordered the use of force against the protesting students. He also asked questions about pellet guns, firing and alleged use of sticks with nails.
Rahul Gandhi said that the youth do not want long clarifications. Their demand is that the government should first tell at what level the order for action against the students was given.
