Under the Vandan scheme of the Yogi government, preparations have started to change the image of two ancient religious places of the district. The government has approved the budget for the development of infrastructure facilities at the ancient Mahavir Ji Temple located in Duddhi Nagar Panchayat and Maa Shitala Mata Temple located in Nagar Panchayat Churk-Ghurma. While the development of both the temples will provide better facilities to the devotees, these ancient religious places can also be developed from the tourism point of view.

District Magistrate Charchal Gaur said that various infrastructure facilities will be developed in the ancient Mahavir Ji temple located in Duddhi Nagar Panchayat at a cost of Rs 1.93 crore. Similarly, a sum of Rs 1.99 crore has been approved for Maa Shitala Mata Temple located in Nagar Panchayat Churk-Ghurma. After the budget is approved by the government, now the process of taking forward the development works will be started. Told that under the Vandan scheme, link roads will be constructed around both the temples for the convenience of the devotees.

Along with decorations, basic facilities like lighting and drinking water will also be developed in the temple premises. This will facilitate the devotees to reach the temples and stay there. The expansion of facilities will also enhance the beauty of both the religious places.

The District Magistrate said that continuous efforts are being made by the district administration to connect the ancient religious and cultural places of the district with better facilities. As per the proposals sent to the government with the cooperation of public representatives, approval has been received for the development of both the temples. He said that after the completion of the development work, better facilities will be available to the devotees visiting these temples and religious tourism will also get a boost.

The District Magistrate said that Sonbhadra is a district rich in natural wealth as well as religious and historical point of view. There are a large number of ancient temples and religious places, which have their own historical and spiritual importance. Development of basic facilities at such places will benefit the local people as well as the devotees and tourists coming from outside.
