On this day, worship Lord Shiva by offering water, milk and Belpatra on Shivalinga. Light incense sticks and chant the mantra 'Om Namah Shivay'. There is also a tradition of making the shape of a snake with cow dung or turmeric and sandalwood and worshiping it at the main entrance of the house.
