Schaeffler India Limited (BSE: 505790, NSE: SCHAEFFLER), a motion technology company, today announced the appointment of Amit Bhalerao as the company's Chief Operating Officer (COO). This appointment is effective from 10th August 2026. In this role, Amit will lead the company's manufacturing operations in India. Besides driving operational excellence, product strategy, digital transformation and skill development, he will be responsible for strengthening Scheffler India's customer-centric approach and long-term growth agenda.

As a member of Scheffler India's executive leadership team, Amit will work closely with the heads of business and various functional divisions to expand and develop the company's manufacturing capabilities. He will also focus on improving operational performance, accelerating localization initiatives and developing future-ready manufacturing capabilities across the company's various manufacturing plants.

Amit has over 23 years of global leadership experience in the areas of manufacturing, operations, business excellence, lean transformation, quality and supply chain management. Prior to joining Scheffler India, he served as Managing Director and Vice President of Operations at Kelvion India. In this role he drove product excellence, technology transfer and manufacturing capacity expansion initiatives while leading operations and business performance.

He has previously held various leadership roles in Cummins, Eaton, Sterlite Technologies and other global organizations. During this time his main focus has been on lean manufacturing, operational excellence, continuous improvement and strategic transformation.
