New Delhi. Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) co-convenor Sourav Das alleged that Puducherry Police reached his house and interrogated his family. Das claimed that his family was being intimidated 'at the behest of the Central Government'.

Know what Saurav Das said?
Saurav Das questioned the police action by posting a post on 'X'. He asked who ordered the police to go to his house. What was the reason behind this? Das wrote, Puducherry Police reached my house two hours ago and asked many questions to the family. Why is Puducherry Police troubling you? Who ordered this and for what purpose? Is this a legal process?
He further alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-backed government in Puducherry is 'intimidating' his family. He claimed that this action is not in accordance with the nature of the Union Territory government.
He said, why is the BJP government in Puducherry scaring my family? The character of Puducherry government is not like this. This is being done at the behest of the Central Government. Das further alleged that this action was aimed at intimidating him into silence. He said that this will not stop him from continuing his political activities.
He further wrote in the post, that if its purpose is to scare me into silence, then it will not work. I will not step back in fear of this. This will further strengthen our resolve to create a better system. A system in which the police follow the law and do not behave like goons.

He also raised questions on the basis of police visiting his house. He asked, why is the Puducherry Government scaring my family at the behest of the Central Government? Who ordered this and for what purpose? Is this a legal process?
Questions raised on Home Minister Shah's visit to Puducherry
Saurav Das also raised questions on Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Puducherry. He wrote, just two days ago Amit Shah was in Puducherry. There he met the Home Minister and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The Lieutenant Governor was known as the 'eyes and ears' of Modi in Gujarat many years ago. Was this strategy made in that meeting to scare the family?
Know what clarification Puducherry Police gave
Puducherry Police said that the police visit to the house was part of the regular security arrangements being made before the Independence Day. Police said that inquiries were being conducted at houses and hotels in the areas frequented by VIPs. According to the police, its purpose was to find out whether any new person has recently come to Puducherry or is staying there. A police officer said the questioning was routine and was being conducted as part of security arrangements being made ahead of Independence Day.
