Weather Alert: Warning of stormy rain in 15 states including Delhi-UP, IMD issued alert

The weather pattern is going to change in many states of the country during monsoon. IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain and strong winds in many states including Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar. The danger has also increased in hilly areas.

New Delhi: The weather is going to deteriorate again in many parts of the country amid monsoon. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain and strong winds in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on August 14. At some places the wind speed can reach 70 to 80 kilometers per hour. There is also a danger of landslides due to heavy rains in the hilly states.

According to IMD, weather may remain bad today in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Jharkhand, Gujarat, West Bengal and Odisha. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in many areas. There is also a possibility of hailstorm at some places.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR today?

There is a possibility of cloudy sky and thunderstorm with heavy rain in Delhi. The maximum temperature can be 36 degrees and the minimum can be 29 degrees Celsius. People have been advised to exercise caution.

Rain and storm in Uttar Pradesh

There are chances of heavy rain in many districts including Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Jhansi, Muzaffarnagar, Bahraich, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Sonbhadra and Mau. Strong winds can blow up to 60 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be 32 and minimum 28 degrees Celsius.

Weather will worsen in Bihar also

There is an alert of storm with rain in many districts including Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Darbhanga, Purnia, Munger, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Samastipur, Saharsa, Kishanganj, Katihar, Khagaria, Kaimur, Saran, Rohtas and Supaul. Winds can reach up to 55 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in Patna can be 34 and minimum 29 degrees Celsius.

Rain in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan

There are chances of heavy rain in many parts of Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, Jabalpur, Indore, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Ujjain, Dewas, Mandla, Panna, Guna and Khandwa. Winds can reach up to 60 kilometers per hour. The temperature in Bhopal can be 27 and 24 degrees Celsius. At the same time, there is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Pali, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Baran, Sirohi, Pratapgarh, Banswara and Chittorgarh. The maximum temperature in Jaipur is expected to be 32 and minimum 26 degrees Celsius.

Danger of landslides in hilly states

It may rain in Manali, Kullu, Kinnaur, Sirmaur, Kangra, Solan, Chamba and Mandi of Himachal Pradesh. There is also an alert of heavy rain and storm in Nainital, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Bageshwar, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Udham Singh Nagar and Almora of Uttarakhand. There is a danger of landslides and road blockage in hilly areas.

Alert in Jharkhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir also

There is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Ramgarh, Chatra, Gumla, Palamu, Khunti, Seraikela, Dumka, Jamtara and Sahibganj of Jharkhand. The maximum temperature in Ranchi can be 27 and minimum 24 degree Celsius. Strong winds along with rain may occur in Srinagar, Anantnag, Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch, Kathua, Baramulla and Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir. The maximum temperature in Srinagar is expected to be 33 and minimum 19 degree Celsius.

There is a warning of heavy rain in Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurudaspur, Jalandhar and Barnala of Punjab. The weather in Chandigarh may remain relatively clear. IMD has appealed to people to be careful in bad weather and check local weather updates before going out.
