On one hand, Pakistan is celebrating its Independence Day i.e. Jashn-e-Azadi, while on the other hand, violent clashes and terrorist attacks are being seen in many parts of the country. The latest case has come to light from the troubled province of Balochistan, where unknown assailants targeted the convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove and opened fire. A total of six people, including three policemen, have been seriously injured in this horrific attack. However, the fortunate thing is that the Home Minister of Balochistan has escaped completely safe in this deadly attack. According to information received from senior police officers, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader and provincial Home Minister Ziaullah Lango was traveling from Kalat towards Quetta. When his official convoy was passing through Khad Kocha area of Mastung district, unknown assailants sitting in ambush suddenly started firing indiscriminately. Security forces took charge immediately after the incident and the injured were immediately rushed to Nawab Raisani Memorial Hospital. Hospital doctor Sana informed the media that the condition of two of the injured remains very critical, who have been immediately referred to a big hospital in Quetta for better treatment. Among the injured, three soldiers belong to the police department. Search operation of security forces continues, attacks have been happening before also. After this sensational attack, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area. As soon as information about the incident was received, a large number of security forces reached the spot and the entire area has been cordoned off. A major joint search operation is being conducted by the security forces to locate and arrest the attackers. It is noteworthy that Mir Ziaullah Lango has been holding the post of Home Minister of Balochistan since taking oath in March this year. Incidents of targeting of convoys of security forces and government ministers by extremist and separatist groups in this region have been reported in the past as well. The administrative system was shaken in other parts of Pakistan as well. On the day of Independence Day, Pakistan, which claims to be the lion, witnessed bloodshed not only in Balochistan but also in other provinces. Unidentified terrorists attacked a police post in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in north-west Pakistan, killing one constable and injuring another. Apart from this, armed terrorists of banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Punjab province, while carrying out two separate attacks, shot dead three other policemen. These continuous violent incidents have raised serious questions on the security system of the country.
