Boca Juniors captain Leandro Paredes has decisively rejected interest from Italian giants AC Milan during the ongoing European transfer window. The 32-year-old World Cup-winning midfielder quickly ruled out any possibility of returning to Serie A, making it clear to the Rossoneri that his complete focus is on winning trophies in Buenos Aires.

Paredes says no to Milan approach

According to TyC Sports, Boca skipper Paredes has declined an approach from Milan during the current European transfer window. Officials connected to the Serie A club got in touch directly with the 32-year-old midfielder to assess the possibility of a transfer before making any formal offer to Boca. But the 2022 World Cup winner asked Milan not to contact the Xeneize leadership, underlining once again that he is fully committed to staying at La Bombonera.

Midfielder reaffirms Boca commitment

The report added that Paredes moved quickly to end any chance of talks from the very beginning in order to preserve stability within the squad and keep the team focused. The captain accepted the call from the San Siro club and thanked them for their interest, but immediately stated that he is already exactly where he wants to be. With a contract running until late 2028, the Argentina international remains fully committed to leading Boca in domestic competition.

Extensive career in Italy

A move back to Italy would have marked another step in a long Serie A career that started with Chievo in 2014, before notable spells with Empoli and Roma. After joining Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2017 and later Paris Saint-Germain, the playmaker returned to Italy with Juventus in 2022 and then went back to Roma in 2023. His emotional return to Boca in mid-2025 brought his journey full circle, and his impressive displays in the Liga Profesional have ensured that he continues to hold a key place with the Albiceleste.

Platense challenge next for Boca

Attention now turns quickly to domestic action as Boca prepare to travel to face Platense in Saturday's Clausura match. Rodolfo Arruabarrena's team are eager to maintain their strong momentum in the race for the league title. For the experienced talisman, the main aim remains to bring major silverware to his boyhood club and strengthen his enduring legacy at La Bombonera.
