On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended warm wishes to all the people of the state. On this special occasion, he respectfully paid tribute to the freedom fighters, immortal martyrs, brave women and state agitators who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
Along with this, while expressing his gratitude to the godlike people of Uttarakhand, he said that the active participation of every citizen in the all-round development of the state is our biggest strength. In his special message issued on the eve of Independence Day, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has a distinct identity in the entire country for its heroic military tradition, indomitable courage and rich heritage of patriotism. He expressed confidence that Uttarakhand is playing a very important role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's big resolve of 'Developed India'.
The picture of Uttarakhand is changing due to development schemes worth Rs 2 lakh crore.
Chief Minister Dhami said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, work on various development projects worth about Rs 2 lakh crore is going on at an unprecedented pace in Uttarakhand. Many far-reaching schemes to roads, railways, tourism, energy and infrastructure are today moving rapidly towards changing the face of the state. He clarified that the aim of the state government is not only to complete the development works and files, but also to deliver their direct benefits to every citizen on the ground.
More than 30 new policies implemented to increase investment in the state
The government has implemented more than 30 new policies to accelerate industrial development and attract investment. Apart from this, to strengthen the border areas, basic facilities are being improved in the villages under 'Mukhyamantri Seemant Kshetra Vikas Yojana' and 'Vibrant Village Scheme'.
'House of Himalayas' brand has been launched to give national and international recognition to local products. In order to increase the income of farmers, along with Apple, Kiwi and Dragon Fruit Mission, aromatic agriculture is also being continuously promoted in the state.
Uttarakhand becomes the first state to implement UCC, strict land law also mentioned
Highlighting the historic achievements of his government, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in independent India where the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been successfully implemented. Apart from this, anti-conversion law is being implemented strictly and strict land law has also been made in accordance with public sentiments.
Under the anti-copying law, strict action has been taken to break the backbone of the copying mafias. The result of transparency and speed in the recruitment processes is that in the last five years, more than 34 thousand youth in the state have been given government jobs in a transparent manner.
Pride of becoming a fully literate state and new revolution in education
Referring to the achievements of Uttarakhand in the field of education and culture, CM Dhami said that 'Center for Hindu Studies' has been established in Doon University so that in-depth study of Indian culture, philosophy and history can be done.
He said that Uttarakhand is among the leading states of the country in implementing the New Education Policy (NEP). The recent declaration of Uttarakhand as a 'fully literate state' is an inspiring and proud achievement for the entire country.
New record in Chardham Yatra, Wedding Destination and Film Shooting
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is no longer just a traditional tourist destination, but it is fast emerging as a favorite 'wedding destination' and 'film shooting hub' for the country and the world.
It is the result of better travel management that so far this year, more than 47 lakh devotees have visited Chardham Yatra. During the Kanwar Yatra, about five crore Shiva devotees safely received Ganga water. Along with conducting Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, many important steps have also been taken to promote winter yatra in the state.
Lakhpati Didi and reservation for women
The Uttarakhand government is fully committed to the all-round development of women and making them self-reliant. Women have been given 30 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs, while a historic decision has been taken to give 33 percent reservation in cooperative societies.
Women are being economically empowered through 'Mukhyamantri Nari Sashaktikaran Yojana' and 'Lakhpati Didi Yojana'. Self-help groups are being provided interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh. Its positive result is that till now more than 3 lakh women in the state have become 'Lakhpati Didi'.
Heartfelt appeal to make Uttarakhand developed and self-reliant
At the end of his address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that our government has an unwavering resolve that the ray of development should reach the person standing at the last end of the society. Public service, good governance, transparency, sensitivity and Antyodaya are the basic mantras of the government.
On this auspicious occasion of Independence Day, he made an emotional appeal to all the people of Uttarakhand to actively participate in the development journey of making the state an ideal, developed, prosperous and completely self-reliant state.
