Indian Overseas Bank Recruitment 2026: Indian Overseas Bank has released an official notification for 250 Local Bank Officer posts under the 2026-27 recruitment cycle. Accordingly, the online registration process commenced on August 8. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications via the bank's official website until August 24, 2026.

Selected candidates will be appointed as Local Bank Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale-I. They will be posted in the same state for which they apply. Candidates may apply for vacancies in only one state. This recruitment drive covers vacancies in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026: To be held in four states

The bank has announced a total of 250 vacancies across four states. Candidates must possess proficiency in the specified local language of their chosen state.

Tamil Nadu: 100 posts; Tamil is the mandatory language.

Karnataka: 50 vacancies; Kannada is the mandatory language.

Maharashtra: 50 vacancies; Marathi is the mandatory language.

Gujarat: 50 vacancies; Gujarati is the mandatory language.

Candidates can apply for only one state. Merit lists will be prepared separately on a state-wise and category-wise basis. Selected candidates will be posted in their chosen state for the first 12 years of service or until their promotion to the specified senior grade, whichever occurs earlier.

IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026: Selection Process

The selection process will comprise an online examination, a local language proficiency test (wherever applicable), and a personal interview. The online examination will consist of 140 questions totaling 200 marks, with a total duration of three hours. It will assess candidates on Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and English language proficiency. There will be a penalty for incorrect answers. The personal interview will carry 100 marks. Final selection will be based on the online examination and the interview, with a weightage ratio of 80:20.
