The symbol resembling water waves indicates engine overheating. Reasons behind this could be less coolant, leakage in the radiator or fault in the water pump. When this light comes on, stop the car at a safe place and allow the engine to cool down. Avoid immediately opening the radiator cap or pouring cold water onto a hot engine, as this can result in a burn risk.
