‘Incredibles 3’ hints at powerful new villain as kids step into the spotlight

Fans got their first taste of Incredibles 3 at D23, where Pixar’s Pete Docter offered a preview of what audiences can expect from the highly anticipated next installment in the beloved franchise.

Disney gave D23 attendees their first glimpse at Incredibles 3 during Friday’s fan event in Anaheim. The new installment will take place only a few weeks after Incredibles 2 and shift the focus toward the superhero kids and their developing abilities, confirmed by multiple outlets.

After Bob led the first film and Elastigirl took the reins in the sequel, Incredibles 3 will put the spotlight on the family’s eldest children.

According to Pete, Violet and Dash are eager to prove themselves as capable Supers in the upcoming movie.

“They want to prove that they are ready to be a real Supers, and their parents aren’t quite so convinced. So they’ve been sneaking out at night to protect the city, and it doesn’t go over so well at home. To make matters worse, they are struggling to contain Jack Jack…” the 57-year-old filmmaker explained.

“A new threat is taking a heavy toll on Bob, who’s grappling with his own relevance in a world of Supers that may have outgrown him. Because even though Supers are legal again, that doesn’t mean all supers are good,” he added.

Docter nearly revealed more about Incredibles 3’s formidable new villain when he described the character as having more power than the entire family and all the other Supers combined. However, Edna quickly cut him off, urging him not to spoil the movie before its June 2028 release.
